Stress Fracture

I have a stress fracture in the Calcaneus bone of my left foot. I apparently did this by running. Although I've been injured since about April 2nd, I didn't get a definitive diagnosis until last Thursday (May 5th). I'm in an Aircast and on crutches. The doctor said I could still bike so I decided to do just that with my friend Steve last Saturday. I did this without my cast on-bad choice. I'm now waiting for my folding crutches and cast cover to arrive in the mail and I'll try the bike again. It's times like this I'm reminded of how I should value every run and ride. More to come...

Steve's New Toys

Steve got some new gripper-things for his shoes after reading about them on the internet. Trouble is, unless the next Ice Age hits, they may never be needed (definitely weren't needed on this day, but not to worry, the lake-effect snow machine will change this). They look like crampons! Mike's got the Yak Tracks that have become fairly common among winter runners on the trails. I still want Steve to try them out because if they look promising, I'm going to get them too!
